Geeza
Geeza is a fresh venture into Egypt's nightlife and music scene, acting as both a party series and a record label. Established with a vision to elevate the local music landscape, Geeza is committed to promoting quality, curated underground house and techno sounds through its events.
Simultaneously, as a music label, we aim to release tracks that resonate with the global underground music community, positioning Egypt as a burgeoning hub in the international circuit.
Experience
The team behind Geeza, including seasoned DJs, entrepreneurs and promoters, bring to the table a wealth of experience, with over a decade of collective expertise in music and event organization.
This includes Cairo’s long-running ‘Sakanat’ series of parties, one of the most cherished and trusted gatherings over the past few years that became a driving force in developing a more sophisticated taste for the city’s nightlife scene - consistently showcasing the most innovative emerging techno, house and minimal artists from around the world whilst putting Egypt’s local scene on the map.
Events
Currently Cairo’s nightlife landscape lacks nuance, there are large scale events and festivals which play solely to the more commercial side of dance music, and there are a smattering of relatively new collectives hosting infrequent events catering to mainly experimental or darker sounds with only local DJs.
With Geeza the aim is to redefine Cairo’s nightlife and music scene once again, honing on this gap by developing a monthly events that offers a vibrant, intimate and safe space to socialize and discover trailblazing house and techno talent from across the globe whilst also providing a platform to showcase Cairo’s new wave of brilliant selectors.
Meanwhile throughout the year, Geeza will host larger scale seasonal events outside of Cairo, featuring bigger names within the global dance music scene.
The Label
Egypt currently lacks any noteworthy dance music record labels. Whilst many collectives and infrastructures have begun to formulate around hip hop and indie music over the past few years, talented DJs and electronic producers from the scene lack representation, professional distribution and a network of booking opportunities.
Geeza’s distribution partners include French label Yoyaku, one of the most respected underground music labels worldwide.
With our ears firmly to the ground and a knack for unearthing producers blessed with that special groove, the Geeza record label will be regularly releasing music from emerging local and international talent - eventually crafting a consistent, distinct groovy and minimal house sound that becomes synonymous with the brand.
